I didn't really take that many pictures this year. But I'll post up the ones I took later.
This year at Youth Camp was different. I thought that if I went in with a "not expect much" attitude for camp then I would have a very very very fun year. I guess camp was fun, it wasn't my favorite in terms of laughter/jokes/fun but in terms of my relationship with God and everyone at camp's relationship with God..camp was amazing.
Pastor Darwin's messages were very simple and straight forward. Before Saturday..I really didn't think of them as anything special. I thought I had already knew and understood all he had to share. But Saturday was..the deepest day for me. Saturday was the funnest day for me. Ah what a Saturday. -Wake up and ran to breakfast with Sarah. The line at the front doors was really long..I pushed through a door not being used and thank God it was open (1!) We sat down and decided not to get in the long line. But we were thirsty for hot chocolate and we walked up to the tea area..there weren't hot chocolate packets!! We found a staff member and asked him why. He gave us the explanation..the hot choclate packets were really expensive and campers usually drank 1/2 a cup of hot chocolate and then left the rest at the table. But he said he knew where a stash was and he gave a hot chocolate packet to Sarah and I (2!) We got back to where we were sitting. I saw that the buffet line outside was short so I ran outside..Sarah soon followed and we got food (3!) Oooh Saturday was the sunniest day this weekend. (4!) This is boring.. I need to hurry it up.
One-on-one time with Kristen (5!) I'm really glad she went on missions. We finally connected..finally!
Zion..I think our performance was better than the one we did in Mexico, and the one in Mexico was amazing..I think it was because we were more comfortable doing the skit around people we knew? (6!)
Pastor Darwin's Saturday evening message..Pastor Darwin gave an example of a child and a mother and I seriously thought he was talking to me. He said that when we recommit God into our lives He doesn't care about our flaws in the past, He cares about our present and future. But God can't accept us until we confess to the people we've hurt and God. WOW. (7!) After Pastor Darwin's sermon we sang a song and he called all of the counselors to come up to the front. He then said that if we wanted to accept Christ, recommit our lives, or give God our burdens then when he said "go" we could go up to a counselor and be prayed over. I really didn't think that more than 30 people would go up..BUT MOST EVERYONE WENT UP. wow..literally when Pastor Darwin said "go" everyone was on their feet!!!!!!! For the first part I kept going to people and comforting them. But God put it on my heart to go find a friend to pray for me. I thought he meant Pert but Bettina was the first person I saw. So she prayed for me and I know that God meant for her to pray for me because even though I didn't tell her anything, she prayed to God for exactly what was on my heart and mind. Something had been bothering me at the time. Fully submitting to God. I never felt like I fully submitted myself to God..there has always been something holding me back. but during sharing time..through the people that shared..I prayed to God that he would help me fully submit to God and he did :) sharing time was..intense. God definately worked through the lives of those who shared and everyone listening. sharing time lasted until 1 a.m...but it wasn't a bad thing at all. Camp was an experience that I wont forget. When people want to know about God..I know that something from this years YC's sharing time will be mentioned.
